Inspirational: I aM mE crew

After dancing their butts off for two months, the members of I aM mE crew can officially announce that they're America's Best Dance Crew. These inspirational dancers came together in Houston, Texas, after recruiting members from all over the world. They are the first crew to win from the south, with a mixed gender  crew.

I aM mE stands for: Inspire, Motivate and Energize. We only got introduced to the six members at the beginning of 2011, revealing that it has international members from China and the Czech-Republic. This group of dancers each have different elements, which makes them together as one.

Millie, Chachi, 747,
Pacman, Jaja and Moon
This crew grabbed the attention by using their connecting style in dancing. Every week they took their challenge and maked it their own, being praised by the judges. Being in the bottom two just before the finale, they fought their way back up being crowned the champion from ABDC season 6.

The message they want to put out? Be yourself. They put out this message with their own unique style, showing that you don't have to be ashamed to just be yourself.
Look below for what kind of awesome-ness this crew is!

Red carpet looks: MTV Movie Awards

Sunday night, the MTV Movie Awards took place once again in California. A lot of celebrities gathered up to recieve popcorn awards, and giving them away. With this kind of event there's always a red carpet, where celebs strut and show off their dresses in front of the camera's. Take a look at some of the most eyecatching outfits that night!

Amanda Bynes showed up with a pair of eyecatching blue fringe shoes, but they did not really match with the dress that she was wearing.

Dakota's little sister Elle Fanning appeared in a cute floral jumsuite, paired with matching wedges.

Emma Stone looked elegant in bronze, matching it from head to toe.

Emma Watson showed off her gorgeous body wrapped in a little white dress with eyecathing details at her shoulders.

Kirsten Steward shined and smiled in a safety pin dress, matched with simple black pumps.

In a mirror-like dress, Leighton Meester appeared on the red carpet.

Miss Selena Gomez took a pose in front of the camera in a cute dress with blue detailing.

Dying your hair at home

At one point in our lives, we'd like to experiment. Especially with our outter appearance. We try out loads of make-up products to find the right one, and we also like to make changes with our hair. Things like chopping off long locks, or adding length with extensions are just a couple of examples. Changing your hair color is another way to make a radical change.

If you want change up your hair color, you have two options: Do it yourself, or go to the hairdressers. When you go to a salon to dye your hair, it will cost a lot more then buying dye at a drugstore and do it yourself. Now if you want a really drastic haircolor, like from black to blonde, I do recommend to go to your hairdresser. Making a huge change like this is pretty risky, and can go wrong easily. But for you people out there who are interested in dying your hair at home, take a look at these tips!

- To start off, you need to buy the right haircolor. Don't look at the haircolor from the models on the boxes, because it might not look the same if you have darker or lighter hair. Instead, look at the overview on the side of the boxes, where they'll show you what the color will look like on light, medium and dark hair.

- Buy enough hairdye. If you have really long hair, get two packs instead of just one. Most likely, one box would only be enough for medium hair. Also consider to get more boxes if your hair is very thick.

- Be prepared. Make sure to not wash your hair at the same day you're going to dye your hair. This is because the hair dye is really agressive, and your hair will need it's natural oils to protect itself. It's going to get a bit messy, so wear an old T-shirt, have a couple of old towels around you and be prepared with gloves. It's very important to read the instructions, so take your time to go through this. Also, check if you're allergic to the hair dye. The day before, do a patch test on the back of your neck, and see if you have any allergic reaction to this.

- Work in sections. If you want your haircolor to be even, work in sections. This is to make sure you've put an even layer of hair dye onto all of your hair. With not sectioning off your hair, you might miss some hair pieces, making the color very uneaven.

- Don't wash your hair out too early! This will affect your haircolor, making it appear different then from what you've expected.

Glam Girl Jessica Jung

After getting to know her little sister Krystal, it's time to introduce you to her big sis Jessica Jung!
22-year old Jessica from San Francisco, is one of the 9 members from the group Girls Generation (SNSD). She was scouted back in 2000 by her agency. After training there for more than 7 years, she finally got the chance to debut with Girls Generation.

You might be surprised to read this, but her hobbies are boxing and playing soccer. Yes that's right, this fragile looking little girl is able to kick some butt. (Not really a surprise though, because her sister is pretty athletic too!)

Most people think she looks very cold when she's not smiling, hence her nickname 'Ice Princess'. In my opinion, she actually looks really cute! What I really like about her, is that she has that cute charm without having to try real hard.

How did she become my favorite member of this group? Honestly, I don't really know. Since there are like 9 members in Girls Generation, it's pretty hard to pick a favorite. There are always some girls that I like more at one moment, and then the next I'll switch it up again. Though the first time she really stood out of the rest for me, was when she still had her blonde hair. Probably because she was the only member with that color in her hair, but really blonde fits the girl!

Fierce Fashion: 2NE1 edition

The girls from 2NE1 (pronounced 'to anyone') are doing amazingly well in the music industry. Debuted in 2009, they have had hit singles ever since like "Fire", "I don't care" and "Can't nobody". They've been traveling all over the world working with Will.I.Am (from the Black Eyed Peas), hinting on an international album. Not only being recognized for bringing out good music, they are also known for their unique fashion. '

The four members are representing an unique and edgier style. From looking like hip hop warriors, they switch easily to strong feminine women by slightly changing their image for every new song they're promoting. Doing this, by playing with all kinds of attires, hair and wigs.  Let's take a look at their awesome style!

Healthy hair

Our appearance plays a big role now a days. Every morning we make sure we look nice and refreshed, doing things like putting on make-up, picking out a cute outfit and spending lots of time on our hair. And probably a lot of you girls know how frustrating it is when your hair has its own will, still after washing it, blow drying, straightening or curling it.

But aside from keeping your hair nice looking, how do we maintain it's health?

The answer is pretty simple: To just be happy with your hair. Say what? Yes you read it right, just be happy with it. Now this might not apply for people who have really wild hair to begin with. But for you people out there who wonder why your hair doesn't shine anymore, this might be interesting to read.

Now when we're happy with our hair, we most likely won't be burning it from using all kinds of hot tools or throwing in a bunch of chemical products. Because think about it, if you're happy with your hair color, you will not dye it. This is a huge profit for your hair, since it won't have to go through a process of bleaching and coloring.

We also seem to always want what we can't get. Straight haired girls would love to have curly hair, and vice versa. Which makes us use straighteners and curling irons. But once you accept the fact that you're simply born with straight hair, you don't need to use all these irons anymore, and your hair will thank you for that.

So be more gentle for your hair, accept it the way it is. Don't burn, tease and color it that often. But if you do, make sure you protect your hair, and to treat your hair with lots of hairmasks to remain its moisture to keep it the way it is.

Pretty girl Krystal Jung

I think I already said this before, but I really like Korean music. Yes I know, I am not even Korean myself, but hey, if it sounds good, then language should not be a barriere right?
Anyways, right now in the Korean music industry it's like flooded with idol groups. There are like tons of boybands and girlgroups. Apart from making good music and bringing out nice performances, these idols are also considered as eye candy. Bringing this to one of my favorite pretty girls recently, Krystal Jung.

Born as Soojung Jung at October 24, 1994, in San Fransisco. She is the youngest member from the Korean pop dance group f(x). Coming from the United States makes her not only fluent in Korean but also in English. This girl was scouted by her agency when she was only 7 years old, but started training in 2006. She has been training in vocals, acting, ballet, jazz dance and Japanese.

When these girls first debuted in 2009, she caught a lot of attention revealing that she is Jessica's (SNSD) little sister. A lot of people say that they don't really look alike. However, when they stand next to eachother, I can see the resemblance.

Krystal and Jessica

Aside from having a pretty face, I envy her body too. She is pretty slim, but is not too skinny to where she's just skin and bones. From appearing in some variety shows, we got introduced to her athletic side. In an interview she revealed it's because of her genes. “In my childhood in America, my father was a boxer and my mother was a equipment gymnast so I would exercise everyday.” “When I wake up in the morning, I would put on my gloves and punch with my father. My parents’s athletic blood flows in me so I’m pretty confident when it comes to sports.”

From the show "Kiss and Cry"

In my opinion, she's pretty much a flawless pretty girl, who is good at everything. With a gorgeous appearance, fluent in a couple of languages and quite a lot of talents, she makes me envy her.

Body image: The skinnier the better?

About a couple of weeks ago, I was just surfing on the internet updating myself on the latest news on Korean singers. Mostly this news is about their music and performances, but there’s also news on things like fashion or funny/beautiful pictures they took from themselves. However, when I ran across this picture, I did not find it funny or nice to look at, at all.

Brave Girls’ So-Ah uploaded this picture on her groups twitter account. Some people commented on how her abs are ‘killer’, while a lot of other people said that she is way too thin. And I cannot help but to agree with the latter.
Now I have nothing against people whose bodies are naturally tiny, but I highly doubt that this girl is naturally this skinny. The lack of body fat made her abs pop up and her arms literally look like skin and bones. She is smiling brightly in these pictures, almost as if she is promoting being underweight. The fact that young girls can look at this picture and believe that this is how a woman’s body should look like, makes me cringe.
A couple of days later, news popped up about SNSD’s Yuri. In a group that consists of 9 members, she has always looked like the most healthy one. You can also say that she was the biggest one, but really, this girl is far from being overweight or anything. When I took a look at these pictures, I kind of felt disappointed.

From a more defined body with curves, she went to an almost fatless and fragile body. Now I won’t call her ugly, or less pretty or anything, but I do think she looks kind of sick in the newer picture. This just got me wondering, did she really think she had to lose all that weight to feel more pretty? Yuri looked fine before, she was never close to being overweight. Something must have pressured her to start losing all that weight.

Is it really okay for our society and media to give more pressure on getting a thinner body? Because in every girls/woman’s magazine you’ll find an article on how to get rid of your belly, how to get your body summer ready or even on how ripped a celebrities body looks like. Instead of focusing on the appearance of our bodies, let’s try to look at the health of our bodies. In my opinion, every girl looks the prettiest when she has that healthy glow around her. Because I believe in when you live healthy, you will also look healthy, not too thick not too thin.

Looking like a natural beauty

With all those celebrities appearing in the media, a lot of us girls and women try to achieve their looks by applying make-up the way (we think) they did. Every day, we apply all sorts of stuff on our face for a flawless skin, seductive eyes and pouty lips. Too bad that this look often goes wrong, and in a lot of cases we end up looking ridiculous. Instead of the ‘sexy celebrity’ look, let’s try something a bit more natural.

As an example, I’m taking Korean celebrities. Above, you can see f(x)’s Sulli and SNSD’s Jessica. Somehow their faces look a lot more natural, fresh and not caked with make-up. These girls look wide awake, thanks to their flawless skin, open eyes, and rosy lips. With a couple of tips and a little bit of make-up, let’s go ahead and try to achieve this look!

1. (Almost) flawless skin
With saying flawless skin, I’m not giving you the cue to apply a butt load of foundation on your face. Instead, try to take good care of your skin. Because trust me, when your skins condition is at its best, your make-up will apply a lot nicer too! So after cleansing and moisturizing your skin, apply a light foundation/tinted moisturizer all over your face. Now remember, you’re not trying to erase your flaws, the foundation is purely to even out your skin tone. However, if you do have a stubborn problem area, add a tiny bit of concealer. Next step is to set your foundation (and concealer) with a little bit of powder. Don’t use too much of it, because your skin will look too matt and not natural. If you like the dewy look, skip the powder.

2.Enhanced eyebrows
A lot of ladies out there neglect their eyebrows, which is really a shame because brows really do frame your face. Make sure you don’t over pluck your eyebrows, because thin brows will give an older and much harsher look. After giving your brows the right shape, it’s time to fill them in with a shadow or pencil. Don’t draw them on, keep a light hand. After filling them in, brush them out with an eyebrow brush to get rid of all the excess powder/pencil.

3.Defined eyes
You don’t need any crazy colors, try to go for natural ones like brown or grey. You can also use black, but this can be a bit too harsh. Taking any type of eyeliner of your choice (pencil, liquid or gel eyeliner), start tight lining your upper lash line.  Tight lining means coloring between your lashes, instead of on top of your lash line. This will give an illusion of thicker lashes. After that you can also line your upper lash line regularly. The trick here is to not apply anything on your lower lash line, as this can drag your eyes down. With the help of an eyelash curler, curl your lashes and apply mascara. Don’t overdo it with the mascara, one – two coats is enough.

4.Rosy lips
All you have to do now is to get the soft rosy lips. First of all, it’s important to moisturize your lips with a nice lip balm or lip conditioner. Personally I  just like to use a bit of balm, so my lips won’t look chapped. If you have really pale lips, and you want to add some color, take a nice pinky lip stain or stick and apply this lightly on your lips. If you have more pigmented lips, try to look for a color that looks like your lips, but better.

Of course, if you want to, you can skip some of these steps if you think you don’t need them. Instead of having to wake up early in the morning just to do your make-up , sleep a little bit longer and try this look. I hope that some of you girls like this ‘less is more’ look,  and try to sport this look for a change!
